ENGINEERED OAK FLOORING
Our Engineered Oak flooring is all end matched and all of ABC grade. It is available as unfinished or oiled depending on your personal preference and comes with micro bevels on the edges but not on the ends.
We tend to keep the 190mm x 21mm oiled in stock and order in the others as required, this is a small variety of what is out there, there are other suppliers we deal with on a regular basis so please get in touch if you would like a more bespoke size or look and we will do our very best to help.

Solid Oak Flooring
Our solid flooring is planed on both faces and doesn’t come with relief grooves or micro bevels, this means it can be used for multiple uses as it’s smooth planed on both faces. The flooring can sometimes come in different widths and lengths, the widths and lengths can be changeable with the arrival of new stock. We try and keep three main widths in stock as below.

Claddings
We also supply Unsorted Grade Siberian Larch cladding as standard machined to one of our profiles or we can also order machined to a profile your choice. Please contact us for more details on the profiles.
All planed/profiled claddings are special order and will be approximately 3-5 weeks lead time from order.
We also sell mostly homegrown fresh sawn larch cladding in a variety of styles please see below, we can supply home grown Douglas fir cladding from time to time so please contact us for more info.
Green Oak Sleepers
Fresh sawn green oak sleepers have so many uses and here at luton green sawmill there is more choice than ever.
Our green oak sleepers are some of the best quality on the market, they come from France by the artic load and we have a very good relationship with the supplier who have high standards just as ourselves. Obviously sleepers are on par with a fencing grade oak rather than a construction grade but are of good quality and are incredible value for money, they can be used for landscaping / general garden work, screening, boarders, planters and more!
We can also re-saw to different sizes (from the initial size) this opens up a whole other amount of uses, rustic cladding and small pergolas or fencing the list can be endless, just remember they are of a fencing quality rather than construction quality so it might be best to have a chat or visit and have a look first so you know exactly what your getting.
CONSTRUCTION FRESH SAWN GREEN OAK
Fresh sawn green oak has many uses from pergolas in the garden to extremely impressive A frames or green oak structures, it’s been used for centuries.
It can be used for cladding either as a flat parallel board or as a featheredge board, We used to buy in the raw material in the round from around the Uk, until 20 years ago when it got increasingly difficult to find quality timber in the Uk. We were lucky to find incredible quality timber from France and proceeded cutting this for around the next 17 years with a mix of Uk grown as and when we could fined it. Since 2019 the quality of round timber coming out of France has dropped significantly to a point we have had to stop buying it this has been a very difficult decision to make as we cut to order ourselves for so man years and in a way it feels like it was taken for granted. Luckily we have had to come up with another way of buying the right quality timber and now purchase sawn to size timber directly from France, it seems difficult to work out how you can buy trees in the round that are poor quality but you can buy sawn to size from France that is of excellent quality but like many things in life it’s now worth trying to work it out, in our opinion it feels like France are happy to export sawn to size timber as it employees their people but if the round timber was exported as it is there is no employment for the sawmills in France, that’s only our brief take on it and that leads to the conclusion of sending us poor quality to limit the amount we buy and can make any money on.
CONSTRUCTION FRESH SAWN LARCH AND DOUGLAS FIR
Fresh sawn homegrown larch and Douglas fir can be used to make timber frame Buildings, Beams, Pergolas, It can also be used for cladding either as a flat parallel board or as a featheredge board, it roughly half the price of oak and a very good comprise.
Larch can be structurally graded from C16 through to C24 depending on sizes required, Douglas fir can also be structurally graded from C16 through to C24 depending on sizes required but can only be structurally graded to C24 in sizes over 20,000mm2.
Kiln Dried Timbers
We mainly stock kiln dried oak in various thicknesses from 1’’, 1.5’’, 2’’, 2.5’’, 3’’, 4’’, we don’t stock much prime grade but try and keep a good stock of light character / Fas grade this seems to be a good mix for our customers especially as we don’t mind you selecting the boards, widths and lengths get slightly more tricky and over the last few years it definitely isn’t getting any easier!
Any sizes under 10’ long and under 8’’ in width would be fairly easy to find in most thicknesses, sizes over the 8’’ width and or longer than the 10’ can sometimes be tricky so it’s best to contact us with your requirements first.
Other kiln dried timbers we try and keep in stock are Iroko, Idigbo, Ash, Elm, Joinery Redwood, Southern Yellow Pine, Sapele, Utile.

Treatex products we keep on the shelf are 0.5l, 1l, 2.5l size tins of clear flat matt ultra, clear matt ultra, and clear soft satin ultra Hardwax oil, We also keep 1l and 2.5l size tins in Treatex Clear UV oil also most of the colour tones collection all in 1l Tins.
Cutting & Machining Service
WOOD-CHIP
We usually chip to order in 0.512m3 dumpy bags, or we can do loose truck & trailer loads of between 1.500m3 – 3.000m3, our Wood-Chip is produced predominantly from side cuttings from the mill and is mostly solid timber with no leaves, this makes it a fantastic product for garden path ways as It will last for several years, it is also good to use to stop weeds. All of our Wood-Chip is made from a mix of hardwoods and softwoods.
